"The mission of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union is to preach and teach the Gospel of Christ in its entirety, for the purpose of the evangelization of the unsaved, the discipling of believers and leading them into the experience of entire sanctification and development of a holy life thereby establishing churches and ministries which reflect the spirit and practice of the New Testament church."
The Bible begins with the words "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). Everything-whatever is on earth or in the earth, the vast universe around us, the spirit world we cannot see-exists because God brought it into being.
This denomination dates from 1909 when five ministers and some sixty laymen, seeking greater freedom to preach and teach the Biblical message of full salvation, left the organization of which they had been a part and organized as the Churches of Christ in Christian Union.
Since 1945, CCCU has expanded its borders, reaching 17 states and into several foreign nations.
In early October of 1967, three families met with the General Superintendent and District Superintendent of CCCU in Plain City, OH. The hope was to establish an evangelical Bible teaching church in this area. Initially, the weekly Sunday School and Worship Services were held in homes. However, a new church building was dedicated on June 7, 1970, and remodeling and an addition were dedicated on October 26, 1986.
We are evangelistic in nature. Our form of worship is simple and free with little emphasis on ritual.
